Gene Russell Pogue, 79 of Lewisburg, Kentucky died on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Hospice Center of Southern Ky. in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
He was born on Thursday, December 4, 1930 in Logan Co., Kentucky, he was the son of the late Lonnie Pogue and the late Sarah Goodall Pogue.
He was self-employed as a logger for 30+ years owning his own business (Pogue's Logging company).
He served in the Navy. He was a Veteran of Korea.
He was a member of Lewisburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are daughters, Robin Pogue Baugh of Lewisburg, KY and Angie Baugh - (Mike)of Russellville, KY; 2 step sons, Timmy Horton - (Donna) of Dunmor, Jeff Horton - (Julie) of Dunmor; 2 grand daughters, Amanda Rutherford - (Jay) of Lewisburg, Kimberly Baugh of Russellville; 1 great grand son, Stephen "Buster" Thomas Rutherford of Lewisburg; 1 step grand son, Nicholas Horton - (Mary) of Pittsburgh, PA; 2 step grand daughters, Sarah Dukes -(Heath) of Dunmor, Jamye Dukes of Dunmor; 2 God grand children, Tony Miller of Oldsmar, FL and Lindsay Miller of Oldsmar, FL.; Several Nieces and Nephews.
He was predeceased by brother, Luther "Buck" Pogue, sisters, Ruby Blue, Rachel "Pat" Whitescarver and Pauline Walker.
Great friends through the years Judy and Johnny Haynes, Deb. and Art Miller, Angie Mullen, Thom Baugh, Teddy, Liza, Shelby and Anna Reed, Susan Anthony, Dorris Johnson, Penny and Kavin Stinson, Joey, Wendy and Whitney Higgins, Duane and Evelyn Gorham and Marvine Pogue Hunt.
A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St. Lewisburg, Kentucky 42256 with the Rev. Sam Romines officiating. Interment will be in Wileys Chapel Cemetery, Lewisburg, KY.
The family will receive friends at 11:00 AM on Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Price Funeral Home, Inc., 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg, Kentucky.
